Up North Prevention
Across 14 counties of northern Lower Michigan, Up North Prevention develops a unified approach to advance substance abuse prevention efforts among local communities. The program facilitates a framework of services through efficient resource allocation and identified community needs.
The program is staffed by certified prevention specialists, each serving a specific location, who implement a population-level change prevention model. The model incorporates substance abuse coalitions, campaigns, and parent networks, as well as providing one of many evidence-based prevention initiatives in a variety of settings: schools, courts, homes, and youth-based organizations.
The Prevention Program is licensed by the State of Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs.
